Features of PBT

Pusat Bahasa Teikyo was established in 1997 by Teikyo University. At present, it is the only institution abroad (outside Japan) recognized by The Japanese Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT). Since its inception 21 years ago, 1168 students have graduated and 968 of them have enrolled into universities, colleges and vocational schools. (Update: April 2019)

  1. Team of high quality lecturers, course contents

    High quality education equivalent to the education in Japan is conducted by vastly experienced Japanese Language and other academic subject lecturers. EJU and JLPT results have been outstanding as well.

  2. Affordable fees, sufficient study hours

    Upon comparing with various Japanese Language Institutions located in Japan, the fees here are addofdable, while the study hours are longer. Therefore, students are able to utilize more time to study in a comfortable environment. In order for Form 5 leavers to be prepared for Japanese national, local public or private university’s entrance examination, thorough curriculum has been constructed especially for other academic subjects.

  3. Monbukagakusho“university (admission) preparatory course” recognition

    Abroad (outside) Japan, PBT is the sole institution recognized by Monbukagakusho as a「university preparatory course without 12 years education」outside Japan. To study in Japanese universities, applicants are required to possess at least twelve (12) years of formal education in order to gain admission. However, even those who only complete form 5 (completion of 11 years) are able to meet the application requirement as per set by the Japanese universities, while still in Malaysia upon completion of the respective courses here.

    Every year, record indicates a high number of successful applicants have passed the entrance examination of various famous national, local public or private universities. The experienced lecturers will provide hands on support for all the students to select desired and suitable universities to ensure their ambitions are archived.

  5. Academic guidance and university examination application support

    With a team of lecturers rich in experience, each and every student’s next stage of specialized field of study is delicately discussed. Examination application, admission, visa application and various other procedures are supported.
  6. Teikyo University Group etc recommendation admission system

    Upon completion of the preparatory course for studies to Japan, besides entering Teikyo University Group (Teikyo University, Teikyo Heisei University, Teikyo University of Science and Technology), those who intend to enter the institution’s affiliated universities are given the privilege of entering these universities without going to Japan to sit for the entrance exam. And in this system, tuition fees waiver is applicable as well.

  7. Bursary System

    Those who enroll into the preparatory course for studies to Japan have the opportunity to obtain “Dato’ Razak’s Scholarship” at the time of graduation. RM5,000.00 will be awarded to 2 students (For year 2018).
  8. High possibility of obtaining scholarships

    One of the scholarships available from the Japan Student services Organization (JASSO) is the 「Honors Scholarship for Privately Financed International Students」 which is awarded based on the results of EJU. Every year, many students from Pusat Bahasa Teikyo have managed to successfully obtain the said scholarship. This is because preference is giving to EJU examinees applying from overseas compared to in Japan moreover Pusat Bahasa Teikyo students’ results have been excellent.

  9. Undergraduate preparatory education for Malaysian government sponsored scholars

    Since 2002, the institution has been commissioned by the Malaysian government to conduct university undergraduate preparatory education for the government sponsored scholars and in 16 years, 479 scholars have been sent to Japan.
  10. Suitable study environment at The Japan Club of Kuala Lumpur

    The institution is inside the premises of the Japan Club of Kuala Lumpur (JCKL). Located a stone’s throw away from Mid Valley Megamall, students are able to participate in JCKL’s events as well as this being a suitable environment to experience Japanese culture. Students are also able to experience and participate in Bon Odori, Sports Day and visit Japanese factory.
